Our Story
Started back in 1998, Royal Lodge grew from a small family operation into what you see today. We weren't trying to be fancy—we just wanted to run the mountain the right way. Early years were tough (like any ski business), but we stuck with investing in proper grooming equipment and hiring people who actually knew what they were doing. Word spread. By 2007, we'd expanded the lodge itself. By 2015, we'd modernized the lift systems. Nothing revolutionary. Just consistent improvement based on what our guests actually needed, not what trend reports suggested.

Owner & Mountain Director
Been skiing this mountain since 1989. Took over from his father in 1998 and hasn't stopped improving things since. Skis most days, knows every ridge and couloir personally. Not a businessman first—a skier who happens to run a resort.
Katalin Horvath
Head of Guest Operations
Worked ski resorts across the Alps before landing here 11 years ago. She stays because Miguel lets her do things the right way instead of cutting corners. Knows how to handle complicated requests without making it complicated.

Chief Grooming & Terrain Manager
20 years grooming experience. Obsessive about snow quality in the best possible way. He'll spend three hours perfecting a single run if conditions warrant it. The mountain is better because he won't accept less than excellence.
